Waterfront

The construction of the iconic residential towers of the prestigious 'Waterfront' project in Waregem is set to start in spring. Developers ION, Steenoven and Alheembouw are currently busy preparing for the start of the first works. A remarkable fact is that even before the foundation stone has been laid, a quarter of the apartments have already been sold, including two penthouses with a swimming pool. The first residents are expected in 2022.

The ‘Waterfront’ residential towers will undoubtedly reshape the skyline of Waregem. The building project, which is 45 metres high, will have no less than 13 floors. The striking Y-structure is also innovative for a city like Waregem. The natural stone finish of the façades and the unique serrated shape of the terraces further reinforce the high-quality architecture. Meanwhile, the residential towers have also been given striking names, namely 'Ascot' and 'Windsor'. This is a subtle nod to the legendary British horse races. Waregem also has a rich history in equestrian sports, with its 'Waregem Koerse' race. In total ‘Ascot’ and ‘Windsor’ will have 120 high-class apartments. The sizes of the apartments will range from 70 to no less than 260 m². They will attract a wide audience, with prices starting from €180,000. Each apartment - whether it has one or a maximum of four bedrooms - will have a spacious terrace, and many have panoramic views.

Some apartments also come with a unique winter terrace. Thanks to the ‘accordion windows' you can, depending on the weather, either screen the terrace or open it up completely. This allows the residents to enjoy their outdoor space year-round. The ultimate eye-catchers of 'Waterfront' are undoubtedly the spacious penthouses with a swimming pool, two of which have already been sold.

Climate-friendly

For this project, ION, Steenoven and Alheembouw are aiming for ecological, qualitative and sustainable living all the way. For example, all apartments will be equipped with a centralised boiler room that will provide all residents with hot water, heating and cooling. The project will be equipped with the most efficient technologies, including a heat pump with boreholes, a cogeneration unit and solar panels.

The result is highly efficient energy generation, which is set to lower the building’s CO2 emissions by 35%. This is not only beneficial for the environment, but also for the owners and residents, who are guaranteed to pay the lowest energy price.

Total project

Waterfront' is a total project where living, working, accommodation and leisure come together. The first phase consists of an office complex on the corner of Zuiderlaan and Meersstraat, half of which has meanwhile been sold. The second phase of the ‘Waterfront’ project consists of the construction of two residential towers and a hotel. The construction of the towers will start in the spring. The first residents are expected in 2022. There will also be space on the site for a hotel, namely Parkhotel, which will expand its network with this 72-room branch in Waregem. It is expected to open its doors in 2021.
