De Wijngaard combines apartments for sale and rent with certified extra-care housing and 1,500 m² of office space spread over several floors. The apartments feature spacious terraces overlooking the city or the central green zone. The wheelchair-accessible extra-care homes offer residents the opportunity to live independently, with permanent support always close at hand. Thoughtful insulation and ventilation ensure a comfortable indoor climate, while rainwater harvesting contributes to sustainable water management.

ION is developing De Wijngaard together with Alides in a public-private partnership. NERO and NU are responsible for the architectural design of the residential and office buildings. Both architectural firms coordinate the mix of functions and create a coherent whole, with the central green zone serving as a connecting element.

Welcome to Meyboom, a truly unique student residence in the heart of Brussels.
After more than a decade standing empty, the former headquarters of the Société Générale des Minérais enters a new chapter. Through the partnership between ION and Belfius Immo, this historic building is being transformed into a sustainable student residence offering 15 years of guaranteed rent via UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles.

Brussels is now home to over 137,000 students, but with a shortage of student rooms exceeding 10,000 and rising each year. Meyboom delivers a forward-looking response to this growing demand: modern rooms and studios in a beautifully restored building, full ownership and guaranteed income from day one.

The residence features 775 m² of communal spaces, including kitchens, study rooms and lounges, complemented by a green inner garden and a rooftop terrace with views across Brussels.

Thanks to the design by LOW Architecten, the building’s historic character is preserved while fully meeting today’s standards of comfort, energy efficiency and sustainability. Meyboom blends history with contemporary functionality — a place where students can live, study and connect in an inspiring environment.

The building on the corner of Zandstraat and Broekstraat exudes history. The stately facades are being carefully restored, while inside there is space for light, high-ceilinged rooms with plenty of daylight and contemporary comfort. A covered atrium makes way for an open courtyard garden – a green lung in the middle of the city.
