Suikerhof
Modern new homes in Veurne's green district
In collaboration with BYGG, ION is developing Suikerhof, a contemporary residential project in the innovative Suikerpark. Residents enjoy a green environment with a 3,500 m² park, within cycling distance of Veurne’s vibrant city center. It’s a place where peace and nature set the tone, while the city’s liveliness is always close by.
As part of the large-scale redevelopment of the former sugar site, Suikerhof is being developed by ION in partnership with BYGG. "The project features modern family homes that seamlessly align with the vision of Suikerpark: a district that values sustainability, future-oriented thinking, and versatility. The design emphasizes openness and light, while the green surroundings ensure a pleasant living environment. Suikerhof contributes to Veurne’s future story, where living, innovation, and quality of life come together."

The Dialogue Between Private Garden and Shared Green Space
Each home has a private garden that connects seamlessly to a shared 3,500 m² park. This combination of private and collective outdoor space makes Suikerhof a living environment where security and community go hand in hand. The park acts as a green lung, adding light, air, and space to the district.
A Home with Built-in Future Potential
Suikerhof’s architecture deliberately provides for expansion possibilities. The attic floor offers not only extra square meters but also future-oriented living comfort. Thanks to this flexible approach, the home evolves with the changing life stage of its residents and retains its long-term value.
Architecture with a view to tomorrow
The architectural firm A1AR designed Suikerhof with an eye for harmony between contemporary architecture and the green surroundings of Suikerpark. The soft yellow brick complements other buildings on the site and creates a timeless character. Large windows bring light and nature deep into the home, while wide dormers and playful front gardens create a dynamic streetscape.
At Suikerhof, contemporary architecture with wide dormers and a flexible attic floor creates a sense of openness. Your own front garden adds a touch of greenery for light, space, and privacy.
The large windows are both an architectural statement and functional: they let in natural light and give the spaces an airy, spacious feel.
Contemporary architecture and sustainable materials connect your home to the green surroundings. From your house, you can enjoy views over Suikerpark, where indoor and outdoor spaces merge in perfect harmony.
From sugar factory to new urban district
Suikerhof is part of an ambitious redevelopment project on Veurne’s former sugar site. Where sugar production once shaped the city, a sustainable district now emerges, combining living, nature, and business. With 18 hectares of park, 15 hectares of nature, and space for local activities, Suikerpark has become a lively residential environment that respects its industrial past.
