The mayor and alderman highlight the importance of entrepreneurship in the coastal municipality during their visit to the site
We are now more than halfway through the construction works. The units are already clearly taking shape. At the moment, we are installing the drainage systems and flooring, and finishing the roof and façade cladding. Next, we will move on to the further completion of the interiors and exteriors, add two parking spaces per unit, and by March 2027, the first companies should be ready to move in.
In need of space
Even before the first building is delivered, 13 SMEs and start-ups have already purchased a unit, with some intending to let them to local businesses. This is encouraging news for Mayor Kris Vandecasteele and Alderman for Local Economy Bert Gunst, who paid a visit to the site this afternoon.
The success of this project once again highlights the need for space for entrepreneurs in Nieuwpoort. It is important that we respond to this demand. Local entrepreneurs are vital for employment, growth and investment in our coastal community. Thanks to this new SME park, we are working together to ensure that doing business in Nieuwpoort is worthwhile. We are not only an attractive seaside destination, but also an ideal place to live and work.
The business units of the second building are also already for sale. Just like the first building, they feature sectional doors, aluminium windows, modern façade panels and space for charging stations.
WVI has now sold the remaining plots in the expansion of the business park.
